A magnificent effort by Shayne Houck lifted the Evansville Otters (39-23) to a 13-1 win over the River City Rascals (39-25) on Wednesday at T. R. Hughes Ballpark.
Houck blasted two home runs for the Evansville Otters. Houck went 2-5 in the game with five RBIs and two runs scored. Houck homered in the fifth and ninth innings.
The Evansville Otters' bats came to life in the fifth inning. In the inning the Evansville Otters scored seven runs. The Evansville Otters scored in the fifth on a two-run error, an RBI single by John Schultz, a three-run home run by Houck, and a fielder's choice.
Preston Olson improved to 5-3 on the year by picking up the win for the Evansville Otters. He allowed one run over five innings. He struck out four, walked three and surrendered six hits.
