Sweeney helps the Evansville Otters down the Washington Wild Things 4-3

Chris Sweeney went 2-3 as the Evansville Otters (38-23) took home a 4-3 victory over the Washington Wild Things (39-24) in seven innings at Bosse Field on Monday.

He singled in the fourth inning and doubled in the sixth inning.

Jose Velez pitched lights out for the Evansville Otters. The Washington Wild Things managed just two hits off of the the Evansville Otters' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

The Washington Wild Things were led by Carter Bell's hitting. Bell went 2-3 and scored two runs. He singled in the second and fourth innings.

Alfonso Yevoli was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just 2 1/3 innings, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
