The Florence Freedom (25-31) beat the Rockford Aviators (25-33) 2-1 on Thursday at UC Health Stadium behind Buddy Sosnoskie, who went 1-3.

Dave Middendorf picked up the win for the Florence Freedom. Middendorf allowed one earned run, five hits and no walks while striking out five over seven innings of work.

Kyle Hassna handled the Florence Freedom's lineup with ease, racking up three strikeouts. The Rockford Aviators' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only four hits.

Eric Cendejas (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed two runs.
