Zac Fuesser held the River City Rascals (32-20) scoreless for 6 2/3 innings to boost the Washington Wild Things (34-19) to a 3-2 victory.

Fuesser allowed four hits, three walks and struck out four.

Scott Kalamar was solid at the plate for the Washington Wild Things. Kalamar went 3-4 and drove in one. He singled in the second, sixth, and eighth innings.

Matt Purnell improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Nick Kennedy ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed two runs.
