A walk-off sacrifice fly from Tyler Booth brought home the winning run for the Southern Illinois Miners (26-22) in a 7-6 victory over the Windy City ThunderBolts (17-30) in 17 innings at Rent One Park, Marion, IL on Thursday.
Jay Austin paced the Southern Illinois Miners at the plate. Austin went 4-7 and drove in one. He singled in the second, eighth, twelfth, and fourteenth innings.
Derrick Miramontes brought the heat against the Windy City ThunderBolts during his outing. The Windy City ThunderBolts managed just one hit off of Miramontes, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three during his four innings of work.
David Kubiak improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. Kubiak struck out one, walked one and gave up two hits.
