The Normal CornBelters outdone by Hall and the Schaumburg Boomers, 6-4

Gerard Hall went 2-4, helping the Schaumburg Boomers (23-19) to a 6-4 victory over the Normal CornBelters (22-19) on Friday at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

He doubled in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

The Normal CornBelters had no answer for Ross Spurgeon, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. The Normal CornBelters managed just one hit off of the the Schaumburg Boomers' pitcher, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

It was a good day at the plate for the Normal CornBelters' Santiago Chirino. Chirino went 3-5 and scored one run. He singled in the first, third, and fifth innings.

Kris Singh improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed one run over one inning. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered one hit.

Eric Anderson couldn't get it done on the hill for the Normal CornBelters, taking a loss. He lasted just three innings, walked none, struck out three, and allowed two runs.
