Blair Walters kept the Schaumburg Boomers (21-19) off the board during his seven innings of work and the Joliet Slammers (16-23) beat the Schaumburg Boomers, 5-0.

Walters allowed five hits, one walk and struck out four.

The Joliet Slammers were led by a flawless day at the dish by Christopher Epps, who went 4-4 against the Schaumburg Boomers' pitching. He singled in the first, fourth, sixth, and seventh innings.

Heith Hatfield brought the heat against the Joliet Slammers during his outing. Hatfield held the Joliet Slammers hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Danny Jimenez was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked none, struck out five, and allowed five runs.
