Richard Seigel hit two home runs to carry the Gateway Grizzlies (27-13) to a 17-3 win over the Joliet Slammers (15-22) at Silver Cross Field.

The offense exploded for the the Gateway Grizzlies in the second. In the inning the Gateway Grizzlies scored nine runs. The Gateway Grizzlies scored in the second on a two-run single by Madison Beaird, a two-run triple by Michael Johnson, an RBI single by Kale Kiser, a sacrifice fly by Michael Wing, and a three-run home run by Seigel.

The Joliet Slammers couldn't get anything going so long as Tyler Thompson was on the hill. The Joliet Slammers managed just two hits off of Thompson, who allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two during his 3 2/3 innings of work.

Jake Hermsen (1-1) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He allowed 12 runs in three innings, walked three and struck out two.
