A walk-off single from Phillip Wilson brought home the winning run for the Evansville Otters (22-14) in a 9-8 victory over the Schaumburg Boomers in 10 innings at Bosse Field on Saturday.
Wilson racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Evansville Otters. He homered in the sixth inning and singled in the seventh and tenth innings.
Bobby Martin rocked the Evansville Otters with two home runs. Martin went 3-4 in the game with four RBIs and three runs scored. Martin homered in the fifth and eighth innings.
Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 17 total runs and 23 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with nine pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Orlando Santos got the win, running his season record to 2-3. He allowed two runs over one inning. Santos struck out none, walked none and gave up two hits.
Dexter Price (1-2) took the loss for the Schaumburg Boomers (20-18). He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
