The Joliet Slammers (14-16) and the Rockford Aviators (13-16) both had scoring chances on Friday, but it was the Joliet Slammers that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 4-3 win at Aviator Stadium.

Adam Giacalone racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Joliet Slammers. He homered in the first inning.

A bright spot for the Rockford Aviators in the defeat was Joey Wagman, who allowed only three runs while striking out eight.

Santo Manzanillo got the win, running his season record to 2-2. Manzanillo struck out none, walked one and gave up one hit.

Gerardo Sanchez (0-1) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just one inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
