Both the Schaumburg Boomers (3-4) and the Florence Freedom (4-3) put runners aboard on Friday, but it was the Schaumburg Boomers that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-6 win at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.

Justin Vasquez racked up three RBIs on two hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He singled in the first inning and tripled in the sixth inning.

The Florence Freedom couldn't get anything going as long as James Bierlein was pitching. Bierlein held the Florence Freedom hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out three.

Nick Stein racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Florence Freedom. He doubled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

Chris Cummins was charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
