Smith's walk-off double send the Alpine Cowboys home winners, 5-4

A walk-off double from Brian Smith brought home the winning run for the Alpine Cowboys (34-24) in a 5-4 victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers in 10 innings at Kokernot Field on Thursday.

Smith had a hot bat for the Alpine Cowboys. Smith went 1-2. He singled in the second and eighth innings and doubled in the tenth inning.

Eddie Medina did his best to prevent defeat.

Medina was hot from the plate for the Las Vegas Train Robbers (34-24). Medina went 2-3 and scored one run. He singled in the third and fourth innings.

Medina pitched seven innings and allowed three earned runs, seven hits and four walks while striking out four.

Derrick Fox led the Alpine Cowboys' offensive threat, as he got on base four times in the game. He singled in the first, fifth, and ninth innings.

Scott Hartling improved to 3-2 on the year by picking up the win for the Alpine Cowboys. Hartling struck out three, walked none and gave up no hits.

Ryan Wood was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just zero innings, walked one, struck out none, and allowed one run.
