Barnes stars as the New Jersey Jackals defeat the Wichita Wingnuts, 7-6

Saturday was a great day for Jeremy Barnes, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the New Jersey Jackals to a 7-6 victory over the Wichita Wingnuts (5-5) at Lawrence Dumont Stadium.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to four lead changes in the game.

The New Jersey Jackals held off the Wichita Wingnuts, as the Wichita Wingnuts were unable to overcome a three-run fifth inning deficit.

The Wichita Wingnuts scored on a sacrifice fly by Cole Armstrong in the fifth inning, a solo home run by John Rodriguez in the seventh inning, and an RBI double by Rodriguez in the eighth inning. Despite their efforts, the Wichita Wingnuts couldn't get over the hump.

David Filak got it done on the rubber on the way to a win. He allowed four runs over five innings. Filak struck out one, walked four and gave up four hits.

Kristhiam Linares (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in four innings, walked five and struck out one.

The New Jersey Jackals were sparked by Barnes and Yasanberty Arbelo, who teamed up for four hits and six RBIs.
