The New Jersey Jackals drub the Sioux City Explorers, 13-5

The Sioux City Explorers didn't stand a chance on Monday, as the New Jersey Jackals (3-4) captured a blowout 13-5 win at Lewis _ Clark Park.

A two-run double by Chris Duffy and a two-run home run by Nick Giarraputo helped the New Jersey Jackals score four runs in the ninth. The New Jersey Jackals had three hits in the inning.

Duffy put himself in scoring position with three extra-base hits for the New Jersey Jackals.

Palmer Karr racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Sioux City Explorers. He singled in the second inning, homered in the fourth inning, and doubled in the eighth inning.

David Filak got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over five innings. He struck out four, walked one and surrendered four hits.

Preston Olson took the loss for the Sioux City Explorers. He lasted just four innings, walked three, struck out one, and allowed four runs.
