The Rockford Aviators (26-43) didn't have a chance on Monday, as the Schaumburg Boomers (40-29) won in blowout fashion, 11-3 at Schaumburg Baseball Stadium.
The Schaumburg Boomers scored four runs in the sixth on a groundout by Jordan Dean, a sacrifice fly by Bobby Martin, a two-run single by Steve McQuail, and a double by Brian McConkey.
The Rockford Aviators couldn't slow down McQuail, who paced the Schaumburg Boomers with five hits.
The Rockford Aviators had no answer for James Bierlein, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Bierlein held the Rockford Aviators hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.
Matt Kuna recorded his sixth win of the year for the Schaumburg Boomers. He allowed two runs over five innings. Kuna struck out two, walked one and gave up three hits.
Nick Grim (1-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked two and struck out two.
