The Southern Illinois Miners (37-30) and the Normal CornBelters (35-32) each put runners in scoring position on Saturday, but the Southern Illinois Miners capitalized on more RBI opportunities, pulling out a 4-2 win at Rent One Park, Marion, IL.

Jereme Milons got on base three times in the game for the Southern Illinois Miners. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Pete Perez had an impressive outing against the Normal CornBelters' lineup. Perez held the Normal CornBelters hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out one.

Michael Schweiss was effective even in defeat, mowing down five the Southern Illinois Miners batters and allowing three runs.

Blake Nation improved to 8-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Southern Illinois Miners. He allowed two runs over six innings. Nation struck out four, walked three and gave up seven hits.
