The Frontier Greys get on top of the Washington Wild Things early but can't hang on in 5-4 loss

The Frontier Greys (14-23) built an early edge on Saturday, but the Washington Wild Things (20-18) roared back to steal a 5-4 victory at CONSOL Energy Park.

The Washington Wild Things took the lead in the sixth inning on a solo home run by Stewart Ijames.

Ijames had two extra-base hits for the Washington Wild Things. He doubled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Amalio Diaz brought the heat against the Frontier Greys during his outing. Diaz held the Frontier Greys hitless over one inning, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out three.

Alfonso Yevoli improved to 1-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Washington Wild Things. He struck out one, walked none and surrendered no hits.

Matt Costello was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just five innings, walked three, struck out three, and allowed five runs.

Ijames, AJ Nunziato and Darian Sandford helped lead the Washington Wild Things. They combined for five hits and three RBIs.
