The Evansville Otters make the most of 8 hits in 7-5 victory over the Washington Wild Things

Both the Evansville Otters (18-8) and the Washington Wild Things (15-11) put runners aboard on Sunday, but it was the Evansville Otters that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-5 win at CONSOL Energy Park.

The Evansville Otters staved off the Washington Wild Things as the Washington Wild Things were unable to match the Evansville Otters down the stretch.

The Washington Wild Things scored on a solo home run by Mark Samuelson in the sixth inning and a groundout by Stewart Ijames and a two-run single by C.J. Beatty in the ninth inning. Still, the Washington Wild Things couldn't draw even.

Andrew Clark led the Evansville Otters' offensive threat, as he got on base two times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the fifth inning.

Jason Ridenhour had an impressive outing against the Washington Wild Things' lineup. Ridenhour held the Washington Wild Things hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two.

Bryce Morrow recorded his fourth win of the year for the Evansville Otters. He allowed two runs over six innings. Morrow struck out five, walked none and gave up six hits.

Shawn Sanford couldn't get it done on the rubber for the Washington Wild Things, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked five and struck out five.
