Pfister gives the Schaumburg Boomers late push to beat the Joliet Slammers, 5-2

Frank Pfister drove in the winning run to give the Schaumburg Boomers (13-8) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Schaumburg Boomers hung on to beat the Joliet Slammers (8-12) 5-2 on Friday.

After Gerard Hall hit into a fielder's choice, Pfister came to the plate with the score tied at two, and hit into a fielder's choice, plating Hall.

Alexi Colon did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Schaumburg Boomers, reaching base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the sixth inning.

Danny Jimenez racked up 10 strikeouts in the the Schaumburg Boomers win. Jimenez allowed two earned runs, seven hits and no walks over eight innings.

David Christensen was hot from the plate for the Joliet Slammers. Christensen went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He homered in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Jacob Sanchez (0-2) took the loss for the Joliet Slammers. He lasted just 5 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
