The Windy City ThunderBolts (5-13) beat the Joliet Slammers (7-10) 6-2 on Wednesday at Silver Cross Field behind Doug Joyce, who drove in three runs.
He doubled in the fifth inning.Daniel Cropper brought the heat against the Joliet Slammers during his outing. The Joliet Slammers managed just one hit off of the the Windy City ThunderBolts' pitcher, who allowed one earned run, walked three and struck out five during his six innings of work.
Seth Schwindenhammer got on base three times in the game for the Joliet Slammers. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He homered in the second inning and singled in the seventh inning.
Jonathan Gonzalez looked sharp on the mound. Gonzalez held the Windy City ThunderBolts hitless over three innings, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four.
Chuck Lofgren ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He allowed six runs in five innings, walked three and struck out one.
