An impressive effort by Jacob Sanchez led the Joliet Slammers (6-9) to a 3-1 win in 10 innings over the Lake Erie Crushers on Saturday at All Pro Freight Stadium.

Sanchez handled the Lake Erie Crushers (6-9)'s lineup with ease, racking up 10 strikeouts. Sanchez allowed one earned run on four hits and no walks over eight innings.

The Lake Erie Crushers had the lead early, but couldn't hold off the Joliet Slammers. The Lake Erie Crushers led until the tenth inning, but the Joliet Slammers took the lead back.

Chase Doremus got the win, running his season record to 1-0. Doremus struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Jordan Wellander (0-2) was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked one, struck out one, and allowed one run.
