A magnificent effort by Tyler Kolodny led the Frontier Greys (6-6) to a 14-2 win over the Windy City ThunderBolts (3-10) on Wednesday at Standard Bank Stadium.
Kolodny rocked the Windy City ThunderBolts with two home runs. Kolodny went 2-3 in the game with four RBIs and four runs scored. Kolodny homered in the seventh and eighth innings.
The Frontier Greys didn't let up, as they kept racking up runs until the end. The Frontier Greys scored six runs in the last three innings to finish off the blowout win. An RBI single by Chris Kay and a three-run home run by Kolodny helped the Frontier Greys score four runs in the eighth. The Frontier Greys had three hits in the inning.
The Windy City ThunderBolts jumped out to an early lead, but they were unable to hang on. The Windy City ThunderBolts were ahead until the fourth inning, but the Frontier Greys would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on an error.
Joe Zeller got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over six innings. Zeller struck out three, walked two and gave up eight hits.
Daniel Cropper was charged with his first loss of the year. He allowed eight runs in six innings, walked none and struck out three.
