Thorman leads the Brantford Red Sox to 14-1 win over the Burlington Twins

A great effort by Scott Thorman carried the Brantford Red Sox (3-1) to a 14-1 win over the Burlington Twins (1-3) on Wednesday at Arnold Anderson Stadium.

Thorman racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Brantford Red Sox. He singled in the first inning and homered in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Burlington Twins couldn't get anything going so long as Brian Sikorski was on the hill. Sikorski gave up just one hit, allowed one earned run, walked two and struck out seven during his seven innings of work.

Ten runs in the opening three innings allowed the Brantford Red Sox to easily put away the Burlington Twins. An RBI single by Lee Delfino, an RBI single by Terrell Alliman, an RBI single by Alliman, a two-run double by Todd Betts, a groundout by Wayne Forman, and an RBI single by Tyler Burnell during the first inning fueled the Brantford Red Sox's offense early.

Peter Bako reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the seventh inning.

Jeff MacLeod (0-1) took the loss for the Burlington Twins. He allowed six runs in 1 1/3 innings, walked three and struck out none.
