Early lead gives the Guelph Royals easy victory over the Ottawa Fat Cats, 18-4

The Guelph Royals (2-0) shut the door early on the Ottawa Fat Cats (0-2), capturing an 18-4 victory on Monday at David E. Hastings Stadium.

Ten runs in the first three innings allowed the Guelph Royals to put the game away early.

A two-run single by Justin Interisano, a three-run home run by Mark Allen, and a home run by Frankie Hare during the first inning and a solo home run by Sean Reilly in the second inning helped the Guelph Royals put some runs on the board early.

Hare racked up six RBIs on four hits for the Guelph Royals.

Adam Reynolds got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out one, walked one and surrendered six hits.

James Amelotte couldn't get it done on the mound for the Ottawa Fat Cats, taking a loss. He allowed nine runs in one-third of an inning, walked two and struck out none.

The Guelph Royals easily handled the Ottawa Fat Cats pitching as six hitters combined for 17 hits, 15 RBIs and 14 runs scored.
