The Schaumburg Boomers outlast the Road Warriors in high-scoring affair, 13-12

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Schaumburg Boomers (48-36) and the Road Warriors (6-18), as the two teams put up 25 runs combined in a 13-12 the Schaumburg Boomers win.

The two teams combined for 33 hits in the game.

The Schaumburg Boomers would not relinquish the lead as the Road Warriors were unable to weather a six-run fifth inning deficit.

The Road Warriors scored on a groundout by Jared Christensen, an RBI double by Wesley Jones, and an RBI single by Matt Wright in the sixth inning and a fielder's choice and an RBI single by Cody Coffman in the eighth inning. Still, the Road Warriors couldn't catch the Schaumburg Boomers.

Chad Mozingo racked up four RBIs on five hits for the Schaumburg Boomers. He homered in the first inning, tripled in the second inning, and singled in the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings.

Sam Robinson got the win, running his season record to 2-0. He allowed four runs over 1 2/3 innings. He struck out none, walked two and surrendered three hits.

Matt Schimpf was charged with his eighth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in 1 2/3 innings, walked two and struck out two.
