Matt Sommo held the Road Warriors (3-10) scoreless for six innings to boost the Joliet Slammers (31-42) to a 14-2 victory.

Sommo allowed two hits, three walks and struck out four.

Nine runs in the first three innings helped the Joliet Slammers blow out the Road Warriors. A solo home run by Erik Lis, a double by Kyle Maunus, a double by David Fox, , a single by Brad Netzel, and during the second inning helped the Joliet Slammers put some runs on the board early.

Fox racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Joliet Slammers.

Jon Jones (0-1) took the loss for the Road Warriors. He allowed nine runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked four and struck out one.
