Peninsula Oilers vs Chugiak Chinooks: 10-12

The Chugiak Chinooks outlast the Peninsula Oilers in high-scoring affair, 12-10

The bats were busy at Loretta French Field on Saturday, and when the dust cleared the Chugiak Chinooks (4-2) had a 12-10 win over the Peninsula Oilers (7-4).

The two teams combined for 28 hits in the game.

The teams traded runs for most of the contest, leading to five lead changes in the game.

The Chugiak Chinooks would not relinquish the lead as the Peninsula Oilers were unable to weather a six-run sixth inning deficit.

The Peninsula Oilers scored on a fielder's choice in the eighth inning and a two-run triple by Nate Ring and an RBI single by Jordan Hein in the ninth inning. Still, the Peninsula Oilers couldn't catch the Chugiak Chinooks.

Kristopher Kwak racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Chugiak Chinooks. He singled in the fourth inning and homered in the sixth inning.

Ryan Sullivan recorded his first win of the year for the Chugiak Chinooks. Sullivan struck out one, walked none and gave up one hit.

NIigel Nootbaar couldn't get it done on the mound for the Peninsula Oilers, taking a loss. He allowed seven runs in 3 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out three.
