Nick Valdez drove in the winning run to give the Maui Na Koa Ikaika (7-9) the lead in the sixth inning, as the Maui Na Koa Ikaika hung on to beat the Sonoma County Grapes (7-9) 4-2 on Friday.

The Maui Na Koa Ikaika held off the Sonoma County Grapes, as the Sonoma County Grapes were unable to overcome a three-run seventh inning deficit.

The Sonoma County Grapes scored one run in the eighth on. Despite their efforts, the Sonoma County Grapes couldn't finish the comeback.

Sandoval reached base three times in the game for the Maui Na Koa Ikaika. He doubled in the fourth inning and singled in the seventh inning.

Chad Blackwell got the win, running his season record to 2-1. He allowed two runs over seven innings. He struck out five, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Jeffrey Lyons was charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed two runs.
