The Hamilton Cardinals come from behind to beat the Kitchener Panthers, 14-12

The Hamilton Cardinals (5-15) trailed by 10 in the third, but Zack Ranta was able to capture the lead back with a error in the fifth, spurring the Hamilton Cardinals to a 14-12 win over the Kitchener Panthers (8-10) at Bernie Arbour Memorial Stadium on Sunday.

With the score tied at 10, reached on an error, bringing home Daniel Jagdeo.

Ranta racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Hamilton Cardinals. He singled in the third and seventh innings.

Each team blasted the other's pitching, and there were 26 total runs and 30 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using six pitchers in total.

The Hamilton Cardinals staved off the Kitchener Panthers as the Kitchener Panthers were unable to match the Hamilton Cardinals down the stretch.

The Kitchener Panthers scored on a solo home run by Mat Taube in the eighth inning and an RBI single by Luke Baker in the ninth inning. Still, the Kitchener Panthers couldn't draw even.

Taylor Boyle got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over five innings. Boyle struck out one, walked two and gave up four hits.

Matt Vickers couldn't get it done on the hill for the Kitchener Panthers, taking a loss. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked five, struck out one, and allowed five runs.
