Nicholas Hynes went 2-2 with an 8.68 ERA in 10 relief appearances as a junior at Missouri Baptist University in 2016 after transferring from Chaffey College. Hynes struck out 15 batters in 9.1 innings and held opposing hitters to a .188 batting average this season.  In 2015, Hynes went 1-2 with a 6.15 ERA in 10 appearances (five starts) at Chaffey College. In 2014, Hynes went 0-2 with one save and a 3.46 ERA in 10 relief appearances as a freshman at Riverside Community College. Following the 2014 college season, Hynes was drafted in the 30th round of the 2014 MLB Draft by the Cleveland Indians, but did not sign.
