In 2015, Causey played in 28 games combined between the Boise Hawks and Asheville Tourists, hitting .228 with three home runs and 24 RBI. He also walked 21 times, helping him to a .368 combined on-base percentage.
The Gilbert, Ariz. native started his professional career with the Grand Junction Rockies in the Pioneer League after Colorado selected him in the 19th round of the 2014 draft. For Grand Junction, he hit .221 with 10 doubles, four homers and drove in 19 while walking 27 times for a .386 on-base percentage.
Causey played his college ball at national powerhouse Arizona State. As a senior for the Sun Devils, he hit .323 with four home runs and 31 RBI on his way to garnering Pac-12 First Team honors while helping to lead ASU to the NCAA Regionals. Overall in three college seasons, he hit .302 with 10 homers and 72 RBI while playing in a pair of NCAA tournaments.
