2016: Signed by Southern Maryland on March 22nd. Appeared in 95 games for the Blue Crabs. Finished season hitting .304 with 25 home runs and 65 RBI’s. Started at first base for Freedom Division in 2016 All-Star Game.
2015: Spent the 2015 season with both class High-A Inland Empire and Double-A Arkansas of the California League and Texas League respectively. Hit .230 with 12 homeruns and 49 runs batted in in 96 games played combined.
Previous Career: Drafted by the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in the 23rd round of the 2012 MLB Draft. Signed his first professional contract on June 18th, 2012.
Personel/Amateur: Full name is Michael Robert Snyder. Son of Brian Snyder, who pitched at Clemson University, and went on to pitch in 17 MLB Games from 1985-89. Brother Brandon Snyder was the 13th overall pick by the Orioles in the 2005 MLB Draft. Played in 83 MLB games from 2010-2013 for the Baltimore Orioles, Texas Rangers, and the Boston Red Sox. Brother Brandon began the 2015 season with Southern Maryland. Twin Matthew was drafted by the New York Yankees in the 10th round of the 2012 draft, played in 28 games last season combined between high-A Tampa and double-A Trenton.
