Corbin Blakey files into North Adams as yet another Georgia native who’s primed to help lead the SteepleCats in their tenth season. Blakey enjoyed a fine campaign this past spring at Georgetown University, representing the Hoyas as they traversed through the challenging Big East Conference.

As a sophomore in 2011, the speedy Blakey came into his own and asserted himself as a player to keep a watch for during his next two seasons in DC. Making a career-high thirteen starts, Blakey batted .279 with 14 runs batted in and ten runs scored. The .279 average was the fifth-highest clip on the squad, while his .318 OBP bolstered a Hoyas’ offense that struggled on the weekends with a 5-19 conference record. Blakey should take on a bigger role next season after leading the team with 16 appearances off the bench.
