Eric Johnson is an infielder for the University of California Davis. In 2011, Johnson hit for a .280 average in 168 plate appearances. In 47 games, Johnson had 47 hits, nine of which were for extra bases (six doubles and three home runs).
His sophomore, Johnson started 53 of UC Davis’s 54 games, seeing action at first base in every game. He batted .343 with 10 doubles, a triple and a home run scoring 39 runs and picked up 35 RBIs. Johnson achieved a nine-game hitting streak twice during the 2010 season. Johnson had a perfect fielding percentage and was selected to the Big West All-Academic team.
His freshman year, Johnson played in 32 games making 22 starts. While spending most of his time manning first base, he also caught four games. Johnson batter .276 with two doubles, two triples, one home run, seven run, and nine RBIs. In 2009, Johnson made the Big West All-Academic squad.
During his high school career at Bellarmine Prep, Johnson earned All-West Catholic Athletic League honorable mention as a junior and senior. In 2006, he was named to the Bay Area World Series III All-Tournament squad and was selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game.
