Michael Alescio is a catcher who joins the Muskrats following his sophomore
year at Seton Hall University. In 2016, Mike hit .316 with one home run and 25 runs
batted in. He started 37 of the 48 games he played in. Mike was named to the 2016
Johnny Bench Award Watch List by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission
for the top collegiate baseball catcher in the nation. He also caught the first perfect
game in Seton Hall history versus LIU Brooklyn on April 15. In 2015 Mike played in
six games and made one start. He collected 2 hits in 8 at bats and stole 2 bases. The
Fair Haven, New Jersey native attended Red Bank Catholic High School. He was a
three-year letter-winner as a catcher and named team captain as a senior. Mike batted
.349 as a junior and .351 as a senior. He was selected to the Senior All-Star Game and
helped lead Red Bank to the 2014 Monmouth County Championship.
