J.R. Bunda, 24, was born on December 3, 1990 in Honolulu, HI. After playing baseball at Iolani High School in Hawaii, Bunda committed to the University of Portland to play for the baseball program. In four years for the Pilots, he accumulated a 3-3 record with a 4.72 ERA and 59 strikeouts in 74 games with the team.

J.R. has pitched in 32 games over 3 seasons in collegiate summer leagues garnering a stat line of 8-8, 4.33 ERA and 84 strikeouts in 122.2 innings pitched. This will be his first season with the Pacifics and his professional debut.
