Kotch has played for the Somerset Patriots during parts of four seasons, including 13 games last year where he had a home run and six RBI. He also played in Somerset for brief periods of the 2008, 2009, and 2013 seasons.

Prior to his time with the Patriots, Kotch had experience in the Baltimore Orioles organization and independent minor league service in the Atlantic League and Frontier League.

He played for the York Revolution, Lancaster Barnstormers, and Camden Riversharks in the Atlantic League.
