Navery Moore joins the Slammers after spending three years in the MiLB. The righty started last year with the Rome Braves (A) striking out eight batters in six innings before being called up to the Lynchburg Hillcats (A+). Moore made 25 appearances out of the pen, going 1-2 with a 5.20 ERA. But with 42 strikeouts and only 19 walks, Moore displayed great control, becoming a key hurler for the Hillcats late in games. In his first full season in affiliated baseball, Moore went 8-3 with a 3.86 ERA in 2012 while pitching for the Rome Braves. He struck out 84 while recording the second most innings pitched on the squad (102.2). The Boston Red Sox originally drafted Moore in the 26th round of the 2008 MLB June Amateur Draft, but Moore forgo his opportunity to play professional ball and signed with Vanderbillt University. He helped the Commodores reach the College World Series for the first time in program history in 2011. The Atlanta Braves picked him up a month later in the 14th round of the draft.
