White, an assistant coach at Penn State University, is entering his first summer as Field Manager of the Honkers. He is 28 years old and recently spent three seasons in the Cleveland Indians organization after being drafted in the ninth round in the 2007 MLB June Amateur Draft. He was touted as one of the fastest players in the Cleveland organization as he stole 73 bases in his 263 games. He hit .368 and .365 in his two seasons at West Virginia. Last summer he served as the assistant coach to the 2012 Stark County Terriers of the Great Lakes Collegiate league, overseeing team hitting and coaching the outfield. His hitters led the league in batting average, slugging percentage, on-base percentage, homeruns, hits, and runs scored. |
