Valentine returns for his fourth straight season with the Ducks. The right hander led the Atlantic League in appearances in 2009, pitching in a career-high 67 games. He posted a 4-2 record along with a 2.96 ERA and two saves for the season. In 70 innings, Valentine struck out 57 batters. His efforts earned him a spot on the Liberty Division squad in the league’s All-Star Game.

The Deer Park  native finished fifth in the league in saves during the 2008 season with 13. He compiled a 5-3 record and a 3.32 ERA in 32 games for the Ducks, earning himself contracts during the season with the Philadelphia Phillies and Cincinnati Reds organizations. Valentine was also an Atlantic League All-Star in 2008. The 30-year old went 4-2 with a 1.54 ERA in 37 games with the Flock in 2007. The Jefferson Davis Community College alum was originally selected by the White Sox in the 26th round of the 1999 entry draft.
