One of seven left-handed hurlers joining the SteepleCat pitching rotation this summer, southpaw Casey Brown will join CCSU teammate Dominic Severino in the Berkshires in 2013.
After making 11 starts as a freshman, Brown has been a mainstay in the weekend rotation for the Blue Devils this season. Heading into the final weekend of the regular season, the Wenonah, N.J., native has started on eight occasions and has tossed two complete games while averaging nearly four strikeouts per outing.
In high school, Brown’s Gloucester Catholic team won back-to-back state championships and also won an American Legion regional title. A versatile athlete, Brown also played football, basketball and ran cross country.
The son of Michael and Stephanie, Brown is pursuing a major at CCSU in Physical Education.
