Lilek allowed just 10 runs (nine earned) on 16 hits with eight walks and 16 strikeouts over 18.1 innings of work.
Prior to Arizona State, Lilek, a lanky southpaw, lettered four years in baseball and one in basketball. Lilek was named team captain all four years in baseball, earning All-State, All-Area and All-Conference Honors. Lilek did not give up a run, going 4-0 on the mound in the playoffs during his senior season and hit .600 to lead his team to an Illinois state title.
