As a starter Mills was the most relied upon pitcher on the UT-Martin staff and was counted on to deliver in big games for the team in 2012. With the Skyhawks this year he posted a 3.94 ERA with a 4-6 record. In 14 starts with the team he had 56 strikeouts and a .251 batting average against him. In his sophomore season with the Skyhawks in 2011, Mills set the school’s single season record with 30 appearances. His seven wins over 40.2 innings of work was the fourth highest win total in school history. During his first collegiate season in 2010 Mills established himself as a reliable bullpen reliever in 23 appearances with the team. In high school, Mills was First-Team All-Area both his junior and senior year. He is currently working to receive a degree in engineering from UT-Martin.
