The SwampBats are pleased to announce that Hunter Cooley will be starting his baseball coaching career in Keene after finishing his final season on the mound with Florida Atlantic University, along with graduating with a B.S. and M.S. in Criminology.  The Vero Beach native attended Vero Beach High School and was named as the TCPalm Baseball Player of the Decade in 2020.

During his time at FAU, he was voted as the team captain two years in a row and a three-year Friday night starter for the Owls. He was also awarded FAU’s Male Student Athlete of the Year in 2022 at the University’s Honors Convocation.  Cooley was also named to the Preseason All-Conference USA team in both 2022 and 2023.

In 2022, he led all of C-USA in innings pitched (104) while being named to the Second Team All-Conference USA for a second consecutive season. In that season, Cooley was named as a finalist for the Senior Class Award, which is awarded to the college baseball player who encompasses the total student athlete and used their platform in athletics to make a positive impact.  At the end of the 2022 year, Cooley was also named as the Conference USA Male Scholar Athlete of the Year for baseball.

Cooley looks forward to joining the SwampBats’ staff and head coach Shaun McKenna as he begins his coaching career.
