Fellow Bat Jackson Ross’ younger brother Michael will be a member of the Bats pitching staff after a solid sophomore campaign at Samford University (Alabama), who is aiming for their third NCAA appearance in the past five years.  Ross pitched to a 3.28 ERA (second best on the team) and 6-1 record over 14 appearances (10 starts), holding the opposition to a .215 batting average.  He struck out 58 in 71.1 innings, and closed the regular season by allowing just five runs and striking out 20 over his final 29.1 innings, which included a win over a ranked Wofford team.  Ross whiffed a season-best eight in consecutive five-inning starts at UCF and vs. Missouri State in late March/early April.  The brothers will become the first players from their respective institutions to play a summer season in Keene.
