Russo, a transfer junior at Kean University, will add right-handed depth to the Rafters pitching staff. The tall New Jersey native, recently named the New Jersey Collegiate Baseball Association Pitcher of the year, was drafted in the 49th round of the 2008 draft by the Phillies. Russo played his freshman and sophomore collegiate seasons at North Carolina State in '09 and '10. Appearing in 15 total games, with 6 starts, Russo compiled a 4-1 record, a 5.43 ERA with 31 strike outs in just over 33 innings pitched.
