As a senior center fielder at Kennedy Kendrick High School, Lubanski impressed college and professional scouts with a great combination of size, speed and ability as he went on to be honored as the 2003 Gatorade National High School player of the year. He was also awarded as a first team High School All-American while earning a 3.5 GPA. After a remarkable senior season in which he batted .528 with six home runs, 38 RBIs and 20 stolen bases in only 72 at bats, Lubanski found himself amongst the most sought after high school prospects in the nation. After being lured by college programs like Duke, LSU and North Carolina amongst others, Lubanski signed a letter of intent with Florida State University. After deciding to enter the 2003 draft, Lubanski was chosen fifth overall by the Kansas City Royals. Lubanski's success continued while playing rookie ball with the Arizona Royals. He batted a whopping .326 with four home runs 27 RBIs and 9 stolen bases in just 53 games. In 2005, Lubanski continued to add to his previous accolades after being chosen to take part in the high A all star game after smashing 28 home runs, while still keeping his batting average above .300. After only four years removed from High School, Lubanski worked all the way up from Rookie ball to AAA in 2007. In 2010, he played in Las Vegas for the Toronto Blue Jays’ AAA affiliate and proved yet again to be an elite player as he posted a .293 batting average with 17 home runs and 57 RBIs. Lubnski’s outstanding play did not go unnoticed as he was a spring training invitee in 2010 with the Toronto Blue Jays and in 2011l with the Florida Marlins. Lubanski now finds himself as a player-coach with the Chico Outlaws where he looks to help the team add yet another championship trophy to sit alongside last years trophy to become the first ever champions in the North American Baseball league.
