Joe Testa begins his first season with the Ducks and his ninth in professional baseball. In 362 career appearances (23 starts), the lefty is 30-30 with a 3.55 ERA. Testa pitched in six games with the Laredo Lemurs of the American Association in 2016, and went 1-2 with an 8.31 ERA. The 31-year-old has previously spent time in the Atlantic League with the Camden Riversharks (2014) and Somerset Patriots (2015).

Testa was signed by the Minnesota Twins organization in 2008 as a non-drafted free agent out of Wagner College on Staten Island. The Jackson, New Jersey native spent three years with the Twins, and parts of three years with the Washington Nationals organization, reaching as high as Double-A.
