Florides begins his first season with the Ducks and fifth in professional baseball. He comes to Long Island after spending four seasons in the Toronto Blue Jays organization, all at the rookie level. In 2016, he played 18 games with the Bluefield Blue Jays in the Appalachian League and collected two RBI, two runs one double and one stolen base. The Glen Cove native spent the previous three seasons with the Blue Jays’ Gulf Coast League affiliate and combined to play in 44 games, totaling three RBI and 12 runs. The 22-year-old played his high school baseball at Holy Cross in Flushing, N.Y. and was originally drafted by the Blue Jays in the 27th round of the 2013 amateur draft.
