Coach Hoppel has spent the past three years as the head baseball coach at Clackamas Community College, where he has worked closely with Pickles’ manager and CCC pitching coach Jeff Lahti.

Prior to taking over as the head coach for the Cougars, Hoppel served as an assistant coach, associate head coach, and co-head coach  with the program for 14 seasons and previously coached for 10 years at the high school level.

Hoppel was also the associate head coach of the Portland Kings collegiate summer team in 2015 and 2016.

He is a graduate of Milwaukie High School, where he played high school baseball and later coached at, and played for CCC in 1982.
